Laser hair removal is an advanced, FDA-approved procedure designed to permanently reduce unwanted hair. This noninvasive treatment uses concentrated light to target and destroy hair follicles, preventing future hair growth. Ideal for those seeking a long-term solution to hair removal, laser hair removal offers a quick and effective way to achieve smooth, hair-free skin.
Laser hair removal works by emitting a concentrated beam of light absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicles. This light energy is converted into heat, which damages the hair follicles and inhibits future hair growth. The treatment is precise, targeting only the hair follicles while leaving the surrounding skin unaffected.
Laser hair removal treatments begin with a consultation to discuss your goals and assess your skin and hair type. The procedure involves applying a laser device to the targeted areas, which may cause a slight tingling sensation. The duration of the treatment varies depending on the size of the area being treated but typically takes about 30 minutes. You may experience slight redness and swelling, which usually subsides within a few hours.

Laser Hair Removal treatments can be done 6 weeks apart.
Most people feel only a slight, momentary “snap” at the treatment site during the procedure.
Minimum of 6 treatment sessions are recommended for the best aesthetic outcome. Laser hair removal technology can only affect hair in the active phase of growth, so several treatments are needed to affect all your unwanted hair.
Laser Hair Removal is different than waxing and it is recommended to shave prior to the treatment. CMS recommends that clients shave the treatment area the night before the treatment to avoid any irritation from shaving and to avoid singeing the hair. When shaved, the laser does not just singe the top of the hair follicle that is visible, but rather is able to penetrate down deeper to the stem cells at the root of the hair follicle, thus allowing for a more effective treatment.
Two weeks prior to your Laser Hair Removal treatment you want to avoid active sun exposure, self-tanners on the treated area, and plucking, waxing, or epilating the hair. The day before your treatment, have the area clean and clean-shaven. Some medications can make you sensitive to light (i.e. antibiotics) so please notify the staff of any new medications. If you use any topical creams such as Retin-a/retinol, you want to avoid that on the treated area for 5-7 days prior to your laser treatment.
At Couture Med Spa we treat most areas of the body. The only areas not included are: Brazilian, perianal, glutes, forehead, and top of the head.
