What is VISIA?

VISIA is a digital imaging system that evaluates skin down to the sub-surface level. It is a quick way to get in-depth answers to what is happening on and under your skin. After the pictures are taken, results are populated by category. This in-depth analysis provides a look at how to better take care and improve your skin. It gives breakdowns and percentages based on people in the same age group to compare results. VISIA provides the ability to give a more concise and accurate regimen for skin care that suits your needs. The process itself takes less than a minute to take multiple pictures of different angles of the face. This ensures full coverage for more accurate results.

What results will it give me?

Visia skin analysis results

Spots: Typically brown or red skin marks, distinguishable by the distinct color and contrast from the background skin tone. Spots vary in size and shape, and are normally visible to the naked eye.

Treatment of choice: IPL laser and hydroquinone.

Wrinkles: Furrows, folds, or creases in the skin that can increase because of sun exposure and are associated with a decrease in skin elasticity.

Treatment of choice: Botox or Dysport to combat the movement that creates the wrinkles.

Texture: Raised and depressed areas that indicate variations on the skin surface affecting skin smoothness.

Treatment of choice: Fractional laser and Tretinoin.

Pores: Circular surface openings of sweat gland ducts. Due to shadowing, enlarged pores appear darker than the surrounding skin tone and are identified by the darker color and circular shape.

Treatment of choice: Fractional laser, SkinPen micro needling, Tretinoin, and Obagi pore therapy.

UV Spots: The absorption of UV light by epidermal melanin just below the skin surface results in the display and detection of UV spots that can result from sun damage.

Treatment of choice: IPL laser, SkinPen micro needling, and hydroquinone.

Brown spots: Pigmentation and discoloration on and beneath the surface of the skin.

Red areas: Concentrated darker red areas, which may be related to a variety of conditions such as inflammation or spider veins.

Treatment of choice: IPL.

Porphyrins: Bacterial excretions that can become lodged in pores.

Treatment of choice: IPL, Tretinoin, cleanser, and Obagi pore therapy.
